Academic, technology entrepreneur, and startup mentor with a strong passion for innovation, product development, and entrepreneurship. I bring a solid academic foundation in computer vision and AI, with deep expertise in 3D reconstruction and 2D/3D human recognition. Over the years, I have developed advanced solutions across multiple verticals — including autonomous driving, indoor/outdoor surveillance, and more — bridging the gap between research and real-world application.
In 2018, I entered the entrepreneurial arena by co-founding Volograms, a deep-tech spin-off venture from Trinity College Dublin, building a AI-enabled 2D to 3D pipeline enabling user-generated 3D content for the Metaverse. Through this technology, we shipped two products: Volu and Vologram Messages, all powered by Volograms' AI platform.
Since 2022, I have been advising early-stage startups and VCs on AI-related topics, leveraging my extensive expertise to guide strategic decisions and foster innovation.
During my professional career in Germany, Ireland, and Greece, I have collaborated with world-class researchers, engineers, and venture capitalists, contributing to groundbreaking projects and products, raising significant early stage VC capital from top UKI investors and European Instruments.
I hold a PhD in Computer Vision and Machine Learning from the Humboldt University of Berlin, an M.Sc. in Geodesy and Geoinformation Science from TU Berlin and a B.Sc. in Geomatics Engineering from the University of West Attica in Athens, Greece.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I enjoy playing jazz piano and crafting DJ sets of house/afro house music, performing for friends and larger audiences.
